Forrest Grove Estates

Imagine waking up each morning in the luxury of a community planned to meet your every need and desire. A place where the birds are always singing and the sun is always shining. A place where you can socialize with other residents in the community lounge, play golf on a private course set among acres of virginal woodlands or splash around in a crystal-blue pool, washing away the recollection of the outside world. A place with a community spirit of a high school cheerleading team and the charm of a small country town. A place where happiness is secured and security is guaranteed. Forest Grove is a place where the good life is a way of life.

Disembodied Cuisine

For the Disembodied Cuisine art project, they attempt to grow frog skeletal muscle over biopolymer for potential food consumption. A biopsy is be taken from an animal which will continue to live and be displayed in the gallery along side the growing “steak”. This installation will culminate in a “feast”. The idea and research into this project began in Harvard in 2000. The first steak they have grown was made out of pre-natal sheep cells (skeletal muscle). We used cells harvested as part of research into tissue engineering techniques in utero. The steak was grown from an animal that was not yet born.

Feeding Your Family On $45 Per Week

Weather because of an emergency or plain old penny pinching, sometimes it’s necessary to scrimp and save. Here is a menu for feeding your family on $45 per week. Forty-five dollars will seem outrageously abundant to some, while it will seem miniscule to others. It is the smallest amount they were able to come up with that will provide enough supplies to an empty kitchen to feed an entire family for a week. The servings are ample and a few adjustments allow you to increase the quantities from 4 servings to 6. Newly added nutritional information makes it clear that except for sodium, these recipes are “nutritious” and “healthy”.
